An incredibly well-crafted patriotic piece that honors those who have sacrificed for our freedoms. The text is a poem from a survivor that pays tribute while being uplifting. The choral writing is careful and gracious. The piccolo offers an approrpriate sonority, as do the occasional handbells. Bringing the military hymn, Eternal Father Strong to Save is a crowing touch. High school, college, and community choirs will find this piece most useful for many reasons. Medium in difficulty.
