Victor Hely-Hutchinson (1901 - 1947) was a British composer who was born in South Africa. He was recognised at an early age as a musical prodigy, and could sing notes by ear before he could talk. His setting of Old Mother Hubbard was written c.1912 while he was still a pupil at Heatherdown Prep School. It is well-known for being a parody of Handel’s operatic style. Old Mother Hubbard was arranged for TTBB male Voice chorus by J. Michael Diack, and first published in 1932. A timeless and amusing classic, it is sure to go down well with any audience!
