Horace Parlan, who is now an important part of the Danish Jazz scene, had an impressive international career working with artists like Charlie Mingus, Booker Ervin, Lou Donaldson, Eddie ?Lockjaw? David, Johnny Griffin, Dexter Gordon and Ben Webster and recording for the famous Blue Note label.
Horace Parlan was also a good composer and on this CD, Love & Peace: The Music Of Horace Parlan, you will hear 10 of Parlan?s compositions played by his favourite Danish jazz musicians.
Following a concert for Parlen, by Jesper Lundgaard, Doug Rainey and Bob Rockwell after they paid him a visit in Autumn 2012, Parlan was so pleased that he suggested the musicians record the material. The result is this CD.
The CD also features a small interview where Parlen speaks about his life and career.
