Widely regarded as the most distinguished of Czech composers, Antonin Dvorák (1841 - 1904) produced attractive and vigorous music possessed of clear formal outlines, melodies that are both memorable and spontaneous-sounding, and a colorful, effective instrumental sense. These three pieces for Violin with Piano accompaniment comprise a slow Ballad (Op.15), a mysterious, chordal Nocturne (Op.40) and a lively Mazurek (Mazurka)(Op.49). They are edited by Rok Klopcic.
