William Whittaker (1876-1944) was an English conductor, composer, and academic, who produced many choral arrangements of English folk songs. Blow The Wind Southerly originated in his native Northumberland, and tells the story of a woman hoping for a southerly wind to blow her lover, a sailor, back home to her. This arrangement is for Voice with Piano accompaniment.
