These mini pieces, like thosein book 1, are written to engage the pupil creatively in independent reading. The pieces are short in length to allow for quick reading and to be very approachable! The book itself is designed to be flexible in its use: the piecescan be played in any order: a single piece can be followed through the four levels to see how it progresses...
The difficulty level progresses through the book with the range of key signatures, textures, and part-playingused becoming more demanding. You will find different suggestions on how to extend each piece.
One thing to emphasise is that altough the book is foccused on reading, pupils should feel able to experiment freely and always beancouraged to listen with attention to the sounds they produce. Interpretation and expression is key!
