For two years Dvorák focused on his Requiem, before it was premiered in 1891 under his own direction in Birmingham. This work reflects Dvorák's deeply religious attitude.
Despite all the drama and orchestral abundance, the characteristics of this work lies between the close relationship between text content and musical expression.
