This collection of piano repertoire pieces are designed to be used in conjunction with The Russian School of Piano Playing, Vol. 2, but are of course entirely suitable for pupils who have not previously used this method.The selection of pieces includes classical and modern western music, as well as Russian compositions drawn from the standard Soviet repertoire for children.The aim of this album is to provide teachers with material which will inspire pupils towards a higher standard of performance. It is intended that the teacher should choose pieces selectively from the contents of the books, and - as with any repertoire collection - not merely go through them in strictorder.Pupils should also be encouraged to learn the chosen pieces from memory, and to play them stylistically. In this way the routine of daily practice will be enhanced.
