This work was commissioned by the Concordia wind band and the Écho male choir, based in Miège (Valais, Switzerland), to mark their respective centenaries. The piece is a sanguine sounding work entirely based upon variations in several keys of a main hymn. This creates a festive and ‘sprituoso’ atmosphere throughout this impressive, highly colourful and energetic work.
