Commissioned by Banda de Musica Municipal de Silleda (ES), Kevin Houben has written this work for the Certamen de Valencia 2018 in Spain. Where Angels Fly is a very technical, powerful and virtuoso work, with a rather fragile and soft introduction in which the main motif – derived from Paul Gilson’s La Prière from Le Retour aux Pays – is developed and also includes Houben’s own musical signature ‘HBE(N)’.
