During his lifetime, Rheinberger’s works for men’s choir were a mainstay for various kinds of gatherings of singing societies and today the works are just waiting to be discovered. This volume, which contains 13 songs, offers a representative cross section from his more than 90 works for men’s choir a cappella. Songs have been chosen whose texts still speak to us today: songs that evoke nature, or that contain convivial and humorous, as well as songs that are like folk songs [for Coro TTBB].
