Spanish composer José Serrano was a native of Valencia and had a successful career through the early decades of the 20th century as a theatre composer, eventually becoming considered one of the greatest zarzuela composers of all time. His work is melodic, sensuous, and full of life, as in this song La Canción Del Olvidó for Voice and Piano, excerpted from one of his many theatre works, Canción de Marinela, written in 1916.In La Canción Del Olvidó, it is clear why Serrano was such a beloved and treasured composer.
