Paul J. Sifler, born in Ljubljana, Slovenia, immigrated to the United States at the age of 11, and following his studies at the Chicago Conservatory as music, led a long and prolific career as a composer and organist. The first of his five Hymnus volumes of organ works includes: Toccata on "Ein' Feste Burg", "Behold the Man" (An Organ Meditation for Lent), and The Last Supper (Based on a Maundy Thursday hymn used traditionally in Slovenia, Jugo-Slavia).
