Following its edition of the beautiful "Messe Sainte Cécile" by Gounod in an arrangement for Coro SA and organ [CV 27.025], Carus presents a further sacred work by this composer: his Te Deum for soli, choir, two harps and two organs [choir organ and great organ]. As Peter Kaiser, the editor, has expressed in his foreword, this work from 1886 realizes a "strict, almost ascetic musical language," an "inward awe and praise of God."
