Elizabeth Cotten occupies a unique niche in American finger-picked guitar, her beautifully flowing style married with her exceptional attention to details of phrasing and voice leading.



There is a strong improvisational element to her style and different renditions of the same song can often sound suprisingly dissimilar. This DVD includes rare film footage of Elizabeth Cotten performing all the songs that are taught ably by guitar legend John Miller. The accompanying booklet includes TAB/standard notation transcriptions and the lyrics of the songs.
